Chapter 2 -- Installing the NanoComputer Driver

Introduction

Before we can begin writing applications for the NanoComputer we need to install the NanoComputer driver so that Windows XP can communicate with the NanoComputer. Please follow the steps below to install the NanoComputer driver.

Installing the Driver

• To install the NanoComputer driver, plug the USB cable into the NanoComputer and the PC. Windows XP will detect a new hardware device attached to the USB Port and show the Found New Hardware Wizard.

• When the Found New Hardware Wizard Window appears, Click on the No, not this time option for if Windows Update should look online for drivers because the drivers were already installed by the NanoComputer Tools Installer. Then click the Next button to continue.

• On the second dialog of the Found New Hardware Wizard, accept the defaults by clicking on the Next Button.

• The Found New Hardware Wizard has now finished installing the drivers for the NanoComputer. Click on the 'Finish Button to close the Found New Hardware Wizard.

Conclusion

• The NanoComputer drivers have now been successfully installed.
